Marcus Cahill is the face and voice of John Lennon and also the founding member of the "Imagine The Tribute" show (Since 2003)


As a John Lennon impersonator he has won world wide praise for his renditions of classic Lennon/Beatles songs, both vocally & visually. He enjoys touring to all the different citys around the world and meeting all the fans.


In 2003 Marcus devoted his time to perfecting his own show "Imagine The Tribute" and is very proud of it and enjoying its continued rise to success.

 

History


Born Dublin Ireland, to a professional folk and ballad musician, his natural progression was to become a musician 'in his own write'.

Marcus has been a Beatles fan since he was young boy and remembers how at the age of 5 he was given his first guitar and promptly began stumming his favourite Lennon/McCartney tunes, by the age of 10 he had saved up enough pocket money to get his first electric guitar.


1985 - 1988


In 1985 aged almost 15 he was voted "Best New Talent" when he won a competition at his local school "The Drimnagh Castle Competition"

Soon after in 1987 he began playing with one of Irelands most promising original pop/rock groups "Power of Dreams",whom with numerous live TV and Radio (BBC1, BBC2, HTV, RTE1, RTE2) appearences throughout England & Ireland to their credit, got signed up to the Polygram record label in 1988.

 

1990 - 1993


In 1990 now residing in Perth Western Australia, Marcus started another group, "Dems the Breaks". They had many TV appearences to their credit, ABC (Rage), Ch 7 (Telethon), Ch 9 (Appealathon), Ch 10 (Kids Company) and also appeared on Radio (92.9fm, 96fm, 98.5fm, Triple J, 100fm) throughout Australia. Along with this popularity they had won many local competitions.

After a while the members of the group had different goals and decided to go their seperate ways.

 

1993 - 1998


In 1993 Marcus joined forces with his father and established "Poteen" as one of Perth's most sought after Irish folk and ballad groups. Poteen continued to entertain audiences until Marcus's father decided to retire in 1998.

 

1998 - 2000


Marcus decided it was time he devoted all his time to being a fulltime musician and finally said goodbye to his 'day job'. He started the group "Audiopool" which amazed audiences around Western Australia, with fantastic renditions of pop/rock classics and hits of the day.

 

2000


Marcus joins "The Australian Beatles Show" in Hong Kong and amazes audiences with talent as a John Lennon Impersonator.

Despite John Lennon's death more than 20 years ago, Beatlemania music and style lives on in the form of The Beatles From Down Under, a talented quartet who have dedicated their lives and voices to perfecting the greatest hits of the Fab Four. The imitators of John, Paul, Ringo and George have toured the world bringing the globe's most well-known ballads to die-hard fans who still can't get enough of British pop's greatest legacy. The Australian Beatles Show will delight fans with their lively performance of favourite songs from Twist and Shout to Hey Jude topped with Liverpoolian accents, especially from John.

2003


In 2003 Marcus started preperations for his show "Imagine The Tribute", finally the dream starts to come true and with countless performances on stage over the past 20 years. Marcus has become without doubt the single best John Lennon performer you will ever see. You will be convinced you are looking and listening to John himself. You will hear and feel the sound and vibe that John Lennon made so famous, while Marcus plays all your favourite songs, using original instruments, perfect costumes.

 

2004


Things start heating up, as Marcus takes his show over to the 1st Australian Beatles Festival, where he got to meet Julia Baird (John's sister) and she gives him an amazing quote.

While at the Australian Beatles Festival, Marcus also meets The Beatles original drummer Pete Best which was certainly a thrill.

Also this year Marcus got invited to play some of the biggest Beatles festival in the world in 2005 eg, "Abbey Road on the River" (Louisville, Kentucky, USA) and the one and only "International Beatle Week" where the dream will come true as he gets to play The Cavern in LIVERPOOL.

 

2005


Marcus has performed at most of the Beatles festivals around the world and continues to amaze audiences everywhere he goes, some of the festivals he performed at this year were "Abbey Road on the River" (Louisville, Kentucky, USA), "The Australian Beatles Festival" (Adelaide, South Australia), "International Beatle Week" (Liverpool, UK).


Marcus was also filmed for inclusion in a coming documentary all about Beatles fans called "The Soundtrack of Our Lives" the documentary will be aired on TV across the world and will also be available on DVD in 2006.


Marcus got invited back to play at "The Australian Beatles Festival" (Adelaide, South Australia), which he looks forward to being part of again in 2006.


2006


Marcus performed at his 3rd Australian Beatles Festival.

Marcus presented his own radio show "The Beatles Show" every Saturday 2pm-4pm on Twincities FM, with a lot of success.

With a constant stream of performances at corporate events and festivals.


2007


This year was a huge success for Marcus, he gained professional artist management.

More outstanding performances at the worlds most famous club "The Cavern" during his 4th International Beatle Week festival at which Marcus had the pleasure of meeting and performing for The First Lady of Georgia, Russia and her son. "It really was an honour to perform for the Georgian Presidential family, truly an honour"~Marcus Cahill.


2008


Things are heating up nicely... there is a 2nd and possible 3rd album being recorded, yes thats right Marcus and his IMAGINE band have been busy recording 2 albums "A Slice of Lennon" and "Another Slice of Lennon" both available along with their 1st album "The Sound of Lennon" all available from this site (see Discography page).

Marcus will be performing again at this years International Beatle Week 08 (Liverpool) which is sure to be huge as Liverpool is the capital of culture this year.

Extensive Touring and TV, press and radio interviews is planned, Marcus could be coming to a city near you (see Tour Dates page for more info).
